doriangraysanatomy: So, about the banning Zimbabwe thingy, from a black and white perspective is makes sense but there's more to it. Granted Mugabe is an ass, but Zimbabwe is a victim of the regime; banning the country would penalize the people, not the government. I mean i'm Zimbabwean, and as a dude that lives in London, I rarely get a chance to get my patriotic hat on. Now imagine folks IN the country. Its our only chance to show that our corrupt goverment doesn't define us:) Dorian out:P

Hey hun, thanks for your message. I agree; Zimbabwe is a victim of the regime. However, as stupid as it is countries use the olympics as a projection of their current state- “our countries economic state is ridiculous but look how much medals we won” we are doing it now in the UK, 27 millions pounds spent when we are knees deep in recession.  It isn’t as much of an extreme case here but Hitler used it in Nazi Germany- Hitler trained the competitors in attempt to distract from what was currently going on in Germany and to show off the ‘Aryan race’. If Zimbabwe weren’t allowed to compete because of their corrupt government it would make Mugabe look really bad as the countries dictator, raise concern from other countries and help the people from Zimbabwe *by the governments actions being watched closely as violent action killing thousands of people has been used in the past* so that the new constitution doesn’t take place so they can see change. :)
